22-year-old Bethany Hamilton lost her arm due to shark attack when she was just 13. But that didn't stop her, now Bethany is the most famous one-armed surfer in the world.

Bethany Hamilton has become a source of inspiration to millions through her story of faith, determination, and hope. She was born into a family of surfers on February 8, 1990, on the island of Kauai, Hawaii.

On October 31, 2003, at the age of 13, Bethany was attacked by a 14-foot tiger shark while surfing off Kauai’s North Shore. Bethany had to loose her left arm in the attack. After losing over 60% of her blood, and withstanding several surgeries without infection, Bethany was on her way to recovery with an unbelievably positive attitude. Lifeguards and doctors believe her strong water sense and faith in God helped get her through the traumatic ordeal.

Miraculously, just one month after the attack, Bethany returned to the water to continue pursuing her goal to become a professional surfer.

In October 2004, Bethany shared her life story in her autobiography entitled Soul Surfer. Seven years later, the book was made into a major motion picture bearing the same title which released theatrically in April, and for home entertainment in August, 2011.

Since losing her arm, Bethany’s story has been told in hundreds of media outlets and she has been recognized with numerous awards, public appearances, and various speaking engagements.

Kjeragbolten boulder: Afraid of heights? This will make your knees shudder [VIDEO]

The Kjeragbolten boulder is a huge rock wedged more than 1000 meters up between two cliff faces. The boulder is situated in the Kjerag mountain, in Norway.

Rumours say that the rock got stuck there sometime during the last ice age. Today, it’s one of the most popular places to get your picture taken.  Even though the boulder hangs more than a kilometer above the water below, and there’s no hand rail or safety net, people walk (in some cases, crawl) out onto the rock for a photo shoot. Evidently the rock’s surface is flat enough that walking out onto it is relatively easy. Just mind your steps and don’t look down. If you get dizzy, you lose your balance and fall into the chasm below.

This area of Norway is absolutely gorgeous! Kjeragbolten is reachable from the Kjerag plateau, a peak that towers above all others in the Lysefjord area. The plateau has become a popular BASE jumping site. But several BASE jumping accidents happen here each year, and BASE jumping from the plateau may eventually become illegal. But if you don’t plan to jump from the plateau, you can simply take in an incredible view of the blue fjords below, the surrounding mountain cliffs, and, weather permitting, an azure sky. The climb to the plateau isn’t easy. The hike is a short 3.6 miles (6 kilometers), but it’s a vertical one; there’s an elevation change of 1,500 feet (500 meters) between start and finish.
To add to the intrigue of the Kjerag mountain, there’s a place near the summit where you’ll hear the sound of a pistol and even see smoke. It’s not a ghost shooting at you. It’s just the wind, blowing in from the east.

Spine-chilling Glass sidewalk on Tianmen Mountains

Visitors walk cautiously on this Hollywood style walkway on Tianmen Mountains in China, wedged perilously almost a kilometer and a half up a steep rock face on the Tianmen Mountain.

This see-through 'sky walk' gives sightseers terrifying thrills as they tread nervously across the 200ft long bridge and is so high up that it allows visitors to looking down at the peaks of smaller mountains below.

The giddy 'sky walk' was built to let valiant visitors scale the dizzy heights on foot, looking down at the green carpet of the surrounding national park.

It offers day-trippers the sensation of walking on the air at the increasingly popular tourist attraction in the Hunan Province, China.

Sightseers are requested to wear overshoes when they cross the 2.5 metre thick skywalk, presumably to help cleaners, who would have to dangle dangerously underneath to wash the glass.

The skywalk is just one of the lures to the beauty spot. Tianmen Mountain takes its name from a huge natural cave half way up, which looks like a giant stone mouth gaping at the sky.

Literally translated, Tianmen means Heavenly Gate Mountain. There's one of the longest cable cars to help tourists to get around the national park.
